Level 97 is known as another source of where entities come from, in fact, many believe that entities such as Light-Bursters were summoned by the pillars.ĭeath Striders are giant maroon arthropods with hydrophobic legs to help them be above the water without sinking. These orbs produce lightning strikes in random locations, along with a random entity being summoned based off the location the lightning struck. Coming in contact with these orbs will electrocute you to death. Given that they represent the level's primary danger, Summoning Pillars play a significant role within Level 97. Massive, around 190-foot-tall granite pillars known as "Summoning Pillars" have enormous, purple plasma-like spheres hovering on their summits. Arriving to the islands is necessity in order to survive Level 97, as mentioned above, the waves will get incredibly strong to the point where not even the strongest swimmers can survive. These islands can be found either floating on water, submerged underwater or in the air, as they tend to rise up and down at interment intervals - typically every 11-15 hours. These islands are made out of an unknown greyish purple material, and many speculate that this "material" is a combination of marble and Liquid Pain. Although attempts were made, nobody has been able to visit the ocean floor due to many hazards being present.Īs stated above, islands within the black ocean are present.
Strangely, the liquid within the ocean is not water, but an unknown substance that is said to be a mixture of Devil’s Ambrosia and Liquid Pain, albeit, the substance is only deadly when drunk. Those who do enter the ship will be greeted by the floor of the ship collapsing into The Void. Under no circumstances should anyone enter the ship, as it is a trap to lure helpless wanderers into thinking that help has arrived. On rare occasions, a ship can be seen sailing through the ocean. Even the best swimmers cannot escape this in addition to the fatal weather, the waves will suddenly turn violent and drown any wanderer who hasn't swum to an island. As they target any hapless traveler in their vicinity, these water spouts seem to be sentient and always know where their victims are, whether they are close by or not. At the ocean, tornadoes occasionally appear at random, forming water sprouts. The level's edge may be found at the ocean's end it is uncertain where it will take you if you leap off of it, although many believe it will transport you to The Void.
Within Level 97, the ocean covers an area of around 300 square kilometers. However, the entities that are summoned within the level tend to be more aggressive and deadly, as one of the most notable entities being The Nucleigo. Similarly to The Hive, Level 97 is known as another source of entities.
Huge black clouds are present throughout the level and appear to be continually showering down on the ocean under no circumstances should anybody consume the liquid that the clouds drop since it contains a variety of diseases, the most prevalent of which is the Hydrolitis Plague. This property also includes for entities outside of Level 97. Dying is much worse on Level 97 as upon dying, your body will biodegrade and soon reincarnate into one of the many entities exclusive to Level 97. Level 97, otherwise known as "Bleak Barrens", is an expansive black ocean with small desolate islands being found every few miles these islands can be found rising up and down at interment intervals - typically every 11-15 hours.
